Welcome to my home page. I am a 9th and 11th grade mathematics teacher at Shaker High School in Latham, NY. I am currently working on my masters degree at the University at Albany. I am a graduate of Siena College. My hobbies include playing softball, reading, and playing in the annual Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving Day. 2004 was the first football game we've won in over 7 years!! Go Team Mattis!!! I am a huge fan of the New York Giants and attended my first professional football game last December at the Meadowlands. I work for the Giants each summer at their Training Camp at Suny Albany. I have met numerous players, and have even had dinner with some!

Upcoming Integrated Project (The purpose of this project is to show students how math is related to real life using technology as a tool for understanding math. Students will learn the statistics unit by collecting their own data to put into different types of graphs. They will then apply their knowledge to make predictions for large scale surveys. This project is a joint effort by Ms. Mattis and Ms. Sager. Ms. Sager is a mathematics teacher at Chatham Middle and High School.)
